The Importance of High pH

It is essential to understand the importance of pH and its relationship to your health. The symbol “pH” is used to describe acidity or alkalinity on a scale of 0 (more acidic) to 14 (more alkaline). pH testing strips can be purchased at you local drug store. These can be used to test the pH of your saliva or urine.

The pH level of your body is significant to your state of health. Bacteria and viruses will not thrive when your pH level is 7 or higher. In the cycle of nature, it is acid that triggers decomposition. Daily application of acidic products to your skin, over time, causes premature aging.

There are many factors that affect your pH level. Diets high in fresh fruits and vegetables and low in cooked foods (cooking kills enzymes and acidifies food) can boost your alkaline level. It is essential to keep your body free of toxic buildup with healthy elimination, exercise, and proper skin hygiene. It is also important to stay adequately hydrated with plenty of pure water.
